4TH ANNUAL ONALASKA APPLE HARVEST FESTIVAL SCHEDULE OF EVENTS


FRIDAY OCT.5TH
ROYAL COURT CORONATION:
6pm - coronation at Presbyterian Church on Carlisle Ave.

SATURDAY OCT.6TH
7:30am - Apple 5k-8k Run and 2 Mile Walk 
begin at the Smokestack at Carlisle Lake at the end of Alexander Rd.

8 to 10 am - Pancake Breakfast at the Presbyterian Church 
($3. per plate or $10. per family)

Apple Pie Contest
Deliver 2 pies for the judging before 11 am
11am - judging of pies at the Presbyterian Church basement dining hall.

12:30 - til sold out - Community Dinner (at the elementary school cafeteria)

1pm - Apple Pie Auction at the Fire Hall Stage

Put Thursday June 16th, 6 p.m., potluck, Elementary Gym, on your calendars.

We will be celebrating the volunteers of the Apple Harvest Festival and begin the planning for 2011!

"GREEN THUMB DAY"

MARCH 19, 2011

This is the second year now that the Onalaska Alliance in Partnership with Raintree Nursery and the Onalaska School District will be offering a

Full Day of Horticultural Classes.

Raintree has been conducting this day of classes for many years. Participants receive useful hands on information in a fun and informative atmosphere.

Raintree provides a Full Scholarship for all Onalaska residents that pre-register by phone before March 17th. Call 1-800-391-8892!

Classes begin promptly at 9:00 am. Arrive early to sign in.

Local Luncheon

The Onalaska Alliance will be providing lunch for the

Green Thumb Day event on March 19, 2011

The regional menu will include sandwich, soup, desert and beverage.

The cost is $10.00 and is a fund raiser to support community projects.

Sandwich choices include:

Roast Beef

Regional grass fed roast beef sandwich with local greens and Rosecrest Farms herb and garlic swiss cheese.

Curry Chicken

Curried chicken salad with Shady Grove curry seasoning, local greens and fresh organic tomato.

Caprese Sandwich

Made with fresh mozzarella cheese, fresh organic tomato and local greens with Local Flavors signature pesto sauce.

All served on fresh baked artisan bread featuring Bob's Red Mill wheat.

Soup choices are:

Seasonal Vegetable and Beef

Vegetables from local farms and choice beef.

Split Pea and Yam

Hearty vegetarian version of the classic split pea and ham.

Soups are mad fresh the day of the event.

Desert of kiwi sorbet

Featuring kiwis from Burnt Ridge Orchards .

Beverages will include iced herbal tea, apple juice or water.


Please place your order before 9:00 am the day of the event at the registration area.

ONALASKA ALLIANCE NEW DATE AND PLACE FOR MEETINGS!

The Onalaska Alliance monthly meetings have changed! Please mark your calendars.

Meetings will be held the first Wednesday of each month at the Onalaska Elementary School Music Room. (It is the small room next to the cafeteria and has a direct entrance to the outside).

Public portion of the meeting begins at 7:00 pm and ends at 8:00 pm.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

If you have some business you would like to discuss please contact our Vice-president Cathy Murphy email: cathy.murphy81@gmail.com to request time on the agenda at least 1 week prior to the meeting.

Executive session is from 6:00 Pm to 7:00 pm and is closed to the general public during that time.
